Workshops are 50 minutes in length and are held in the Career Pathways Training Room unless otherwise noted. Registration is provided through Handshake. At the Reverse Career Fair, rather than having to rush through massive lines of students at company booths, companies and their representatives will be able to learn more about hopeful candidates as students pitch themselves at their own booths. The event will give the unique opportunity for students to display individual or team projects to prospective employers. Since students do not have enough time to make an impression to company at regular career fairs given the massive amount of attendees, the Reverse Career Fair can allow employers to see students accomplishments and what they have to offer.

The BMES annual industry night gives students an opportunity to talk to biomedical engineering company representatives to network, learn about internship opportunities , and gain a better sense of what biomedical engineering companies do. Some companies attending include Medtronic, Johnson and Johnson, and Microvention. Feel free to bring copies of your resume and dress business casual. This event is open to all UCI students, but there is an admission fee for non-BMES members of $10 (bring cash to the event or Venmo is accepted). Admission is free for BMES members.

We at HackUCI like to believe that a hackathon is very much like an invent-a-thon where like-minded individuals with various different backgrounds and skill sets come together for 36 hours to “invent” something from the ground up. The only thing limiting what you build is your own creativity — we’ll provide the rest. We are excited to see all the amazing innovations all you hackers will create over the course of the weekend!

Our in-school model places well-trained, recent college graduates as full-time college advisers in high schools. Advisers focus on college enrollment and completion by delivering personalized, knowledgeable guidance on college admissions, financial aid, and enrollment. They collaborate with teachers and administrators to devise creative approaches to reach and connect with students, and most importantly, open the eyes of students and their families to the possibility of college.
