Professional Photo Booth

Headshots are completely free for UCI students, faculty, staff, and all UCI alumni.

The photo booth is located inside the Division of Career Pathways (DCP). Our office is located in 100 Student Services 1 directly across from the Student Center Starbucks.

On arrival, please check in at the front desk and our staff will direct you.

The Iris professional photo booth can be used by:

• Currently enrolled UCI students
• UCI faculty
• UCI staff
• UCI alumni

No. The photo booth is available on a self-service, drop-in basis for individuals Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5pm, or on Fridays from 9am-4pm. For groups of 10 or more, please contact dcp-photos@uci.edu for reservations.

The Iris professional photo booth is an easy to use self-service photo booth with a touch screen, high-quality lighting, and camera equipment. The photo booth can also be controlled from your smartphone by scanning a QR code for a touchless experience.

Here's how the process works:

• Arrive to the Division of Career Pathways, ready and wearing your professional attire
• Step inside the booth, sit on the adjustable stool, and follow the prompts on the screen
• To take your photos, continue to follow the prompts on the screen
• Your photos are emailed to you for downloading and editing
• Photos can be accessed to download for up to one year after being taken

Please note: Maximum occupancy during any session is one person. Please respect the privacy of the individuals taking photos before and after you. All users must have a valid UCI email address to access the photo booth. You will enter your UCI email address and accept the terms to continue. The Iris photo booth is provided to users for the purpose of professional headshots. Photos must NOT contain inappropriate gestures, props, or nudity. Please note that the Division of Career Pathways (DCP has administrative access to all photos and reviews them periodically to ensure appropriate use and content. Inappropriate use will result in loss of privileges to use the booth as well as referral to the Office of Academic Integrity & Student Conduct.

The booth will take a series of three (3) photos during your session. You may re-take and edit your photos, though we ask you to be respectful of others and limit your time to five (5) minutes in the photo booth if others are waiting.

While you are in the photo booth, you have the option to retake one (1) your photos and/or edit. Editing includes teeth whitening, blemish removal, skin softening, etc.

You can further edit all of your photos after your session when they are emailed to you through the Iris platform or app.

There is no limit to how many times a UCI student, faculty, staff or alumnus may use the professional photo booth.

The Iris photo booth is provided to users for the purpose of professional headshots. Photos must NOT contain inappropriate gestures, props, or nudity.

This is entirely up to you and may depend on your desired field and purpose. Be aware that the photos will not include your lower body, so you can dress accordingly.

We recommend business casual at minimum, but you are welcome to wear what you are most comfortable in.

Solid colors usually work best and mid-range to darker/deeper shades are encouraged. Avoid wearing white as the background is white, so this may not provide sufficient contrast. If needed, you may change in the restrooms in the Division of Career Pathways (DCP).

The Division of Career Pathways (DCP) partners with the Basic Needs Center (BNC) to offer professional pop-up clothing events throughout the year.

Inventory for the professional clothing pop-ups is based on donations, so there is no guarantee you will find exactly what you want or need.

The professional photo booth is self-service but Career Pathways staff are always available to offer assistance if needed.
