The Division of Career Pathways (DCP) is partnering with the School of Humanities to support Humanities majors looking for an internship. Second and third-year students can join the Humanities Internship Prep Program in Fall 2023 to prepare for the internship job market and earn up to $500.

TO PARTICIPATE: Interested School of Humanities undergraduate students in their 2nd or 3rd year must fill out and submit the Humanities Internship Prep Program Interest Form. Interested students must also be available to attend an information session on either Thursday, September 28 or Monday, October 2 to learn about program parameters and requirements.

This program is limited to the first 20 eligible participants. If selected for the program, you must complete all listed requirements to be eligible for the $500 stipend.

PART ONE: CAREER FAIR PARTICIPATION + REFLECTION 

1. Attend one “Prepare for the Fair” workshop hosted by the Division of Career Pathways 

    • Register for the workshop on Handshake. Dates and times are subject to change, please check the DCP’s Events Calendar for the most accurate information.
    • Workshop dates:
      • In-Person, Mon Sept 25th at 11:00am
      • Virtual, Thur Sept 28th at 3:00pm
      • In-Person, Tues Oct 3rd at 3:00pm
      • Virtual, Wed Oct 4th at 1:00pm
      • Virtual, Mon Oct 9th at 1:00pm

AND

2. Attend EITHER the In-Person Fall Career Fair OR the Virtual Fall Career Fair

    • In-Person Fall Career Fair
      Thurs, Oct 5th   I   10am-2pm   I   Outdoors on Ring Road
      Student registration opens September 21st at 8:00am in Handshake
    • Virtual Fall Career Fair
      Wed, Oct 11th   I   10am-2pm   I   via Handshake
      Student registration opens September 27th at 8:00am in Handshake

AND

3. Write and submit a reflection on the Career Fair experience

PART TWO: DCP + HUMANITIES-FOCUSED WORKSHOPS

  1. Attend 2 required workshops designed for Humanities students**:

    • Humanities Career Exploration, Wednesday, October 18th 4-5pm
    • How to Get an Internship, Thursday, November 9th at 4-5pm

  2. Attend 2 additional workshops in fall quarter selected from relevant events on DCP's Events Calendar** 

    • Register for the workshops on Handshake
    • Send your Handshake registration confirmations to humcareerdevelopment@uci.edu by Friday, October 20th

PART THREE: DCP TECHNOLOGIES 

Engage with at least 2 of the following DCP technologies:

 

This program is limited to the first 20 eligible participants. If selected for the program, you must complete all listed requirements to be eligible for the $500 stipend. Program is not open to students who have previously completed HIPP.
