Info Sessions

RegisterCIA Information Session and Interactive Simulation Wednesday, September 25th 2019, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm PDT

September 25, 2019 (5:00pm - 7:00pm PDT)

Student Center, Moss Cove B, Irvine, CA 92697, USA

CIA Representatives will provide information regarding the CIA and the variety of career and internship opportunities available. Undergraduates and Graduates of all academic disciplines are encouraged to attend. All CIA positions require US citizenship and relocation to the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Following the information session, we invite graduate and undergraduate students who are interested in CIA careers to participate in a short simulation exercise that puts you in the role of different DO professional occupations. “Einstein as an Asset” is a participation exercise where the audience is asked to look at a historic figure, Albert Einstein, as if he had been a clandestine intelligence source for the US government at the start of WWII. How would you evaluate the information he provided for intelligence and/or operational value? What else would you need to assess besides the information itself? Participants will be asked to look at Einstein through the eyes of a present-day CIA officer.

This exercise will focus on and highlight the different career tracks within the Directorate of Operations – i.e. Operations Officer, Collection Management Officer, Staff Operations Officer, Targeting Officer, and Language Officer, as well as illustrate how the different Directorates all work together to further CIA’s mission to collect and disseminate HUMINT (human intelligence).
