UCI Faculty and Staff can use the following form to request a Handshake Courtesy Account.

With this account you will be able to:

  • Search for internships and jobs to forward or share
  • Search for upcoming workshops and events
  • View career fair dates and participating employers
  • View employer profiles

The Division of Career Pathways provides designated faculty and staff access to a Handshake Courtesy Account under the following terms and conditions.

  1. Access the account for student advising purposes only.
  2. Complete your student profile, which includes selecting a major, adding skills, and adding class projects related to the majors you serve. This will create a customized experience that will help you help your students.
  3. Do not release your account username and password to anyone.
  4. Do not apply for jobs, make counseling appointments, RSVP for events, contact students or employers.
  5. Make your profile private (under the name tab in the upper right corner, select Settings and then choose “Private” in the Privacy section). This means that employers will not be able to view your user profile/resume or message you, and you will not be able to view other student’s profiles or message them.
  6. Your Handshake Courtesy Account will be deactivated if you do not log into your account within one year.
  7. Users will lose access to privileges if they fail to uphold this user agreement.

Once your account is approved and created in Handshake, you will receive two emails related to your new account. The first email will come from the Division of Career Pathways, with notification that your account has been created. The second email will be an invitation to log into your Handshake Courtesy account. If you don’t receive this email, please check your junk or spam folders since this email will come directly from Handshake.
