UCDC Application

Prospective interns must complete an extensive application process outlining their interests, skills, and career objectives. The selection process is designed to evaluate the applicant’s writing ability, oral communication skills, personal character, motivation, and ability to perform well under pressure. Applications are available each Fall. Interviews and final selection take place in mid to late November.

Summer 2018 Applications will be available in Fall 2017


  • Must be a regularly enrolled UCI undergraduate student, including graduating seniors (June graduates only)
  • 2.75 GPA recommended

Application components

  • Application form available through Zotlink
  • Critiqued resume (have your resume reviewed by the Career Center during drop in hours Monday-Friday 11 am – 3 pm)
  • Unofficial transcript (available at the Registrar’s office)
  • Writing sample (prompt is available on Zotlink)

Note: Some popular and competitive internship sites have their summer internship applications due prior to the UCDC application. If you are interested in these programs, you must apply directly to the internship program before you are formally accepted into the UCDC program. Please be sure to apply to the UCDC program by October 31 as well. Examples of sites with early deadlines for summer 2017 (check sites for actual deadlines):
