Resumes and curriculum vitaes (CV) are documents that give an overall picture of your experience, skills, and other important details recruiters may be looking for – with some minor differences.
A resume is a document (typically one page) summarizing your skills, experiences, and accomplishments. An effective resume succinctly describes your education and experience as it relates to your targeted position.
CV (Curriculum Vitae)
A CV contains more details than a resume and often includes four additional sections:
- research experience
- teaching/mentoring experience
- publications or poster presentations
- and references
