Computer Science – Individual Study (Course #199) 

Undergraduate students can earn between 2 – 5 units while exploring industry-relevant topics.

HCI & User Interface (Informatics 132) 

This one-quarter course provides students with real-world  projects ranging from web applications and portals to online services, cloud computing, ipad, iphone and mobile applications.

Informatics – Individual Study (Course #199) 

Undergraduate students can earn between 2 – 5 units while exploring industry-relevant topics.

Informatics and Computer Science – Industrial or Public Sector Field Study (Course #192) 

Undergraduates can gain practical experience and apply classroom knowledge in a hands-on setting.

Peer Academic Advising (PAA) 

Peer Academic Advisors (PAAs) expand their knowledge of UCI’s academic programs and resources while developing public speaking and communication skills. Applications are due in January for the following academic year.

Professional Internships (Course #299) – Graduate students only 

This Independent Study course is designed for graduate students to develop professional experience in Computer Science, Informatics, or Statistics.

SAGE Scholars Program – Student Achievement Guided by Experience 

This program provides undergraduates who have significant financial need with the tools to invest in their future through leadership training, career and graduate school planning, and access to internship and scholarship opportunities.

Science Careers – Individual Development Plan 

This tool includes assessments and resources to assist graduate students and postdocs with exploring more than 20 different scientific career paths.

Senior Design Project: Usability Engineering & Software Development 

This three-quarter course provides graduating seniors with in-depth projects using good software engineering processes interlaced with human centered methods to build and install for corporate, university, or non-profit organizations.

Software System Design (Informatics 117) 

This one-quarter course provides students with real-world  projects to build and install something useful for corporate, university, non-profit, or community-based sponsors .

Statistics – Independent Study (Course #199) 

Undergraduate students can earn between 2 – 5 units while exploring industry-relevant topics.

UTeach 

This program enables upper-division undergraduates to develop & deliver their own lower-division seminar classes. Under the DUE, this program  provides a unique opportunity to integrate research, teaching, & learning.

Vault 

Learn what it’s really like to work within an industry, company, or profession. “Vault Guides” are free, downloadable ebooks that provide information about industry outlook, trends, advancement prospects, & skill requirements.
